Outfit of the Week: Lace Dress

Hello everyone! Long time no talk! I apologize for being absent for about a week, but it was a much needed hiatus. I just finished up my fall semester of my senior year and I felt a desperate need to reset. So instead of dishing out sub-par content, I decided to take a step back.

I also felt a compete lack of inspiration which added to my absence. Again I didn’t want to post anything that I didn’t stand behind. So some blog post ideas that were suggested and my break, I’m happy to say that I’m re-inspired and re-energized! Without further ado I wanted to show you all what I wore for Christmas Eve.

Details: Dress // Tights // Boots

I got this dress from Chicwish.com for a wedding in November (I highlighted the dress back in my 2017 lessons). The dress was a bit difficult to get on but I felt that any bigger wouldn’t fit as well. Be warned to buy your clothing ahead of time if you’re getting it for an event. Mine took about two plus weeks to get to my house.

For the wedding I paired it with caramel heels and some self tanner on my legs. Because Christmas Eve was a frigid 2 degrees, I opted for some black tights and boots to keep my legs from freezing.

I absolutely love how this dress can transition from a wedding to a family function. There was a fear that I wouldn’t be able to wear this dress again until another fancy event came up.

Again, glad to be back and hope you all had a lovely holiday season!

  1. Hi Samantha,

I’m new to your blog and I love your style! I am considering ordering this dress and I’m wondering if you think it runs small or true to size.

    Thank you!!

    1. First off, welcome to the blog! So glad you reached out. I found it was a bit small in the shoulders (but I have old swimmer shoulders so keep that in mind). The waist was true to size and so was the length. There was some unique dance moves to get it over my shoulders and chest but once it was on, it felt perfect!
