In case you don’t know what the 10×10 challenge is, check out what’s going on here. For the next 10 days (not including weekends) I’m only wearing 10 pieces of clothing.
Instead of posting a review at the end of the challenge like I did last season, I’m going to be posting everyday and talking about my outfit, first impressions, and styling notes. Super similar to what Caroline Joy does which is where I got the 10×10 idea from. So let’s get into it!
It was the most Monday kind of Monday ever. Each day the sun rises just a little bit later, which makes it that much harder to get up. On Mondays I head to a spin class that starts at 6:30 AM so I’m pretty much on auto pilot until I can get myself a cup of coffee. On top of that, it was gloomy and thunder storming in the morning and the day was just screaming for some joggers and a T-shirt.
I work in an office on Mondays so instead of reaching for something cozier, I picked out my skater skirt and my graphic T. Not sure it trumps soft sweats, but they get the job done.
Because of the rain, I also grabbed my jean jacket as an accessory and to keep me warm and dry. I’m not a huge jewelry girl, maybe that will change once I start wearing these pieces everyday, so the only extra that I opted for was my Apple watch that I wear daily.
Mix and match styles. Do you only wear your graphic T with leggings? Or your dress with a blazer? Don’t be hesitant to mix comfy with professional. Pairing this tee with a skirt ups the outfit just a bit without sacrificing too much comfort.
Dress for the weather. I really wanted to wear some of the heavier sweaters but with the weather being cold and rainy in the morning and warm and sunny in the afternoon, I knew I needed to wear something that would work with both. Dress for what the weather is, not what you want it to be. Don’t worry, it’ll come soon enough.
Rock the wet hair. No my hair is not extra textured today, I just chose sitting on my computer with my coffee over blow drying and straightening my hair. Avoid heat is not only so wonderful for color treated hair like mine, but it adds dimension to an otherwise neutral outfit. Unfortunately, my hair becomes this curly, frizzy mess once it’s fully dry. So, after a few hours I threw it back into a braid.
What I Wore
This Circle/Skater skirt can be found at H&M for under 20 dollars. I have found this to be a great staple so I highly recommend you grab one for all seasons. You can find similar ones like this one at 6PM. Or if you’re really looking for a steal, peak at this one from Forever21 that’s under 8 dollars!
So the graphic T I’m wearing, I got from a creator at Etsy. Unfortunately, she isn’t on the site anymore. But I put together some super similar options. Also, all are from Etsy, so you can still support small businesses!
See you all tomorrow with Outfit number 2!
