The Cheat Sheet for a Summer Look

Currently I’m writing this sitting on my porch in the morning drinking an iced coffee. This morning is pleasant my friends! There’s something so wonderful about starting the day off with a quiet morning.

Speaking of good weather, it has been on my side lately (being nice and hot), but the last thing I’ve been wanting to do is spend a half hour loading on makeup that will just sweat off by noon!

My bestie Hannah asked me on Instagram (@Barrychicblog) what my makeup routine was and I have been dying to share ever since! So I wanted to share with you all how I get this look, which light enough for this summer heat!

After I cleanse my face I use the Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Concealer as an eye primer and on any blemishes I feel need extra coverage that day. Sometimes on a hot day this will be enough face coverage that I’m willing to endure, other times I go for my L’Oreal® Paris Infallible Matte Foundation which has been a favorite and a recurring “empty” for years. In the summer months, I make sure to go easy on the foundation so that my freckles on my nose peaks through!

One of my favorite gifts was this e.l.f. Eyeshadow Palette Mad for Matte because I use it all.the.time. For this look, I go for the first and lightest color on the base of my lid and third color on the corners of my eyes.

Just the outer half of my eyes are lined with the Maybelline® Line Express® Eyeliner and after I curl my lashes I cover them with Maybelline Lash Sensational Curvitude Mascara… I swear this post isn’t sponsored by Maybelline, I just really love their products!

While writing this I was excited to remember that my bronzer/blush/highlight pallett is from NYX, but when I checked I saw, nope!  It’s once again a Maybelline product! I use my Maybelline® Face Studio® Master Contour to get a pinch of color on my checks and swipe a bit of highlighter where I could use a bit of a summer glow.

My mom has great taste and I am constantly stealing borrowing everything in her closet. One thing that I definitely have to stop stealing and buy my own is her YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick Collection. The color is #1-blood red and it totally goes with my natural eye and skin look I usually have going.

“Trust me, you’ll look put together even if you’re not.” – Red Lipstick
